The Berlin Blockade 24 June 1948 to 12 May 1949 was a moment in the very early days of the Cold War that could have sparked a real shooting war in Allied-&-Soviet-occupied Germany. One U.S. or British transport aircraft supplying West Berlin shot down by Soviet anti-aircraft fire and it could have started a real war. It is likely that only the then-U.S. monopoly of atomic weapons prevented this from occurring.

Stuttgart ist zwar auf der Karte dort vermerkt, wo Tübingen ist, und anfangs kommen einige Passagen von Berlin, später auch von Köln und dem Rhein, der gesamte Film ist jedoch sehr ansprechend gemacht.Sehr schön finde ich die Hauptbahnhofszene mit dem roten Vororttriebwagen und ganz besonders die Szenen mit dem Wengerter und Bauern Zerrweck, sowie die Szene mit dem Heuwagen. Alles einwandfrei, sehr schön.😊

I assumed that every NATO accession ceremony was done like it is now. Such as with Sweden, Finland, North Macedonia and Montenegro for example.

Love this. Does a lot to counteract all the bogus claims surrounding Yugoslavia by actually showcasing much of the human cost that would have further been incurred had the Allies not intervened.

We need more people to understand how crucial NATO is to regional and global security, development, democracy and stability. This video is underrated and under watched for the important information that it contains, showing the work that nato has done to protect its citizens and allies over the years since its inception till now

Former members of the Warsaw Pact mInus Russia are now members of NATO. Even neutral Finland and Sweden are members too.😁. I got a chance to visit then West Germany twice back in the early 1980s when I was serving in USAF. Glad to be part of cold war history.👍
